Update from the Boykin Spaniel Society 2009 Upland National Field Trial
A few Dang Yankee's made the trip again this year to Cheraw,
SC for the Boykin Spaniel Society Upland National Field Trial.
With a record turn out, the competition was stiff to say the
least. After two long days of testing and many ups and downs,
the DYBSC's Kevin Kees and "LC" placed Third in the Novice
division of 42 dogs. Congratulations Kevin and LC.

Yankee Happenings
As with all BSS events, there is more than field trial going on. This
weekend featured the inaugural running of the Crazy Quail
Challenge. The event pits the handler/gunner and their dog in a
race against the clock to see who could bring 3 released quail to
hand. Congratulations go out to Al Bloom and Lilly for posting the
best score for the weekend!!

Included as a side event at the Crazy Quail Challenge was the
Sub-gage Border Shootout. Each participant in this event was
required to shoot either a 28ga or 410 bore shotgun and their
time would be recorded for their club of choice. With
participation from all of the regional clubs we are proud to say
that Al Bloom and Lilly came through for the Dang Yankees and
took home the top spot in the Border Challenge as well. Great
job Al!!! We would also like to congratulate Bill Crites of the
Carolina Boykin Spaniel Retriever Club on his second place
finish only seconds behind Al.
The DYBSC would like to thank the Boykin Spaniel Society and
all of the volunteers that made the National Upland Field Trial a
such a great success. You guys out did yourselves again.
Thanks for all of your hospitality and we'll see you in March.
